Sugar Hill is in the process of relocating the city’s current obelisk-shaped Veterans monument from directly across from City Hall to an area nearby on Church Street and closer to the cemetery. The new memorial will feature the monument, commemorative bricks, a water feature and eternal flame.

Memorial Day activities have been moved to the front of City Hall, 5039 W. Broad St. to accommodate construction activity on the site.

The project has been awarded to Surfaces Group of Marietta. A ground-breaking ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. June 6 on the construction site.
