Nearly two decades after a Super Bowl project began in Atlanta, it will again donate books, sports equipment and school supplies to local students in need.
Super Kids-Super Sharing has been implemented in every Super Bowl host community since it began in Atlanta in 2000. Public and private schools may participate in the community initiative, with some donating, some receiving and others doing both.
Schools and organizations that need donations will register and then collect gently used or new items on Jan. 19 during an event at the Infinite Energy Center's Forum. Coordinators and students from donor schools will bring the items to be shared, and Atlanta Falcons representatives will greet and thank students.
The Super Bowl will be held Feb. 3 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The city's first two Super Bowls were held in 1994 and 2000.
Schools may contact Susan.Groh@NFLenvironment.com for more information on Super Kids-Super Sharing.
