A Therrell High School student called to the principal’s office for fighting Friday morning threw a table at the principal and was arrested, according to a school official.

The 16-year-old was charged with two crimes, aggravated assault and disrupting school, said Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos.

The incident began when seven students at the southwest Atlanta school were taken to the principal’s office following a fight, said Atlanta Public Schools spokesman Stephen Alford.

While the students were in the principal’s office, one of them launched the table into the principal, Alford said.

The student, a junior, was acting out of frustration, Alford said.

The principal didn’t require medical attention, but one other student was treated for injuries.
