Gwinnett police are looking for a 17-year-old who allegedly robbed a student and assaulted an administrator at Central Gwinnett High School.
One teen, Timothy Bertrand, also 17, was arrested soon after the incident and charged with armed robbery, battery and loitering. Authorities are waiting on an arrest warrant to pick up Zachary Brunner on armed robbery and loitering charges.
According to a report by the school district, an administrator questioned the two teens about being in the building during school hours. Bertrand allegedly cut the adminstrator's hand and pushed him into a wall and both suspects ran.
Brunner escaped.
School officials learned of the alleged robbery later in the day last Thursday. According to a report on the incident, the weapon was a handgun.
"A family member of a Central Gwinnett High student later contacted the school and indicated that the student had his money taken away at school," a district spokesman said in an email. "The school spoke to the student, who believes he saw a weapon tucked in one of the individuals' waistbands. The student reported the individual took $5 from him."
