Henry County motorists are being advised that nighttime travel on I-75 in the northern end of the county is being affected for several weeks by crews that are repainting lanes on the expressway.

The work was supposed to start in early December but was delayed by weather difficulties, according to officials. Crews started the evening of Jan. 6 and are expected to continue until the end of February. The work starts at 9 p.m. each night and ends at 5 a.m. weekdays so as not to interfere with rush-hour traffic, continuing until 10 a.m. Saturdays and noon Sundays. The area in question extends from the Clayton County line near Exit 228 to just south of the Walt Stephens Road overpass and includes the I-675 interchange.

Expect one or two lanes to be closed around the work zone, and drivers are advised that closures could be in either direction.
