Streetcar drill will close some streets Monday night

Nov 10, 2014A training exercise Monday night involving the Atlanta Streetcar will close several streets around the streetcar’s maintenance facility downtown.
Streetcar workers and first responders will take part in an emergency-response drill beginning. The streets affected will close at 7 p.m.:
- Fort Street, between Edgewood Avenue and Auburn Avenue
- Bell Street, between Edgewood and Auburn
- Auburn Avenue, between Bell Street and Hilliard Street
- Edgewood Avenue, between Fort Street and Hilliard Street
- Additionally, right turns from the Downtown Connector exit ramp to Edgewood Avenue will also be restricted.
The drill begins at 9 p.m., two hours after the streets are closed. They are expected to reopen about 1 a.m. Tuesday.
