The work of the Rev. C.M. Alexander will be recognized Saturday by having a street renamed in his honor.

Kennedy Street will be renamed Cameron M. Alexander Boulevard, according to a release about the change. The ceremony will take place on Saturday.  The parade begins  at 9:30 a.m. followed by a celebratory program at 11 a.m. on the church plaza. Alexander has served as pastor Antioch Baptist Church North, 540 Kennedy St. NW,  for more than four decades

The parade will begin at the intersection of Kennedy and Oliver streets and proceed east to Northside Drive.
