Gwinnett firefighters were dispatched on 123 storm-related calls over a three-hour period Thursday evening.

Because of the volume of calls, the department staffed its Operations War Room, placed an additional engine in service and utilized staff from fire inspections and arson to assist on calls about downed live wires.

The most significant of those calls included a house fire in Lilburn caused by a lightning strike to the attic and five incidents where trees fell down on houses in Snellville, Duluth and Norcross.

There were no reports of injuries in those incidents.
