Forsyth County officials continue to shoo walkers/joggers/bikers and other users away from a portion of the Big Creek Greenway shut down due to damage from last week’s storms.

A tree fell on the trail between mile markers 6.1. and 6.2, taking out a portion of the boardwalk. Officials said that despite the damage, users can still access the Bethelview Road Trailhead and can travel north toward Kelly Mill Road. Although park and recreation crews are working steadily on a repair, no date’s been set for a reopening.

Recent severe weather also brought down numerous trees on power lines and roads across the county.
