Stone Mountain Downtown Development Authority Executive Director Mechel McKinley announced last week that the city will accommodate two separate film productions this week. 20th Century Fox will prepare the production for filming “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul” early in the week. Film production will take place from 6 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on Main Street between Manor Drive and East Mountain Street, during which time the street will be closed to through traffic. The production will restore the area to its previous state from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

The company will also film the television series “Sleepy Hollow” from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m. Tuesday on Poplar Springs Drive from Ridge Avenue to Forrest Avenue. The film production security staff will manage intermittent pedestrian control on the street’s sidewalks and the Stone Mountain Police Department will be present to assist with traffic issues. Motorists may want to consider using alternative routes of travel this week.
