Stone Mountain has won a national honor for its annual financial report.

The city earned the Achievement for Excellent in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Associations for its professionalism and openness of its annual report. City manager Barry Amos won a similar award for his work in preparing the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

The association is a nonprofit professional group serving more than 17,500 government finance professionals across the country.
