The Sons of Confederate Veterans think it's insulting.

The NAACP and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference agree, albeit for different reasons.

But both are in the same camp when it comes to the idea of placing a Martin Luther King Jr. memorial on top of Stone Mountain.

So where did this idea come from? It has its roots in a walk up the mountain in 2013. And the minutes of a meeting of the Stone Mountain Memorial Association in June also offer a clue.
