The Stockbridge Youth Council, which helps young people better understand government through service projects and initiatives, pinned 10 new members recently.

The new class, which meets the third Wednesday of each month, includes Kyle Jordan, Nicolias Jordon, Jayden Williams, Sanaya Alexander, Nadiyah Timmons, Jonathan Hooker, Brittney Browne, Jalen Jenkins, Alexis Harris and VaSanti Brock.

"Our teens are critical to the success of our community's future, " Ericka Harvey, chairwoman of the Stockbridge Youth Council Advisory Board, said in a statement. "The city of Stockbridge has some of the best and brightest youth. This program year will be amazing and empowering for all of us."

To participate, students must be in high school and be residents of Stockbridge. The program launched in 2017 and this year’s class kicked off in August.
