The Stockbridge City Council voted at its May 11 regular meeting to settle a lawsuit with former mayor Lee Stuart.

As part of the agreement, Stuart receives $59,999 toward the payment of his legal fees. The vote was 3-2 with Anthony Ford and Robin Buschman voting against it.

Stuart took office in January of 2010 and was involved in litigation against the council for much of his time in office, which ended in late 2012 after he pled no contest to a charge in Fulton County of unprofessional conduct stemming from a secret recording of a mediation session relating to his legal action against the city.
