The Stockbridge City Council voted at its March 11 regular meeting to approve an ordinance requiring home owner associations and neighborhood associations to register with the city for the purposes of ensuring compliance with city ordinances with regard to parking, safety and other issues.

This was done due to various services such as planning and zoning and fire prevention being transferred from Henry County to the city.

City officials said it will allow them to communicate directly with the 70-plus HOAs when issues such zoning cases arise that could impact certain neighborhood, and to give notifications during weather emergencies, among other things.
