The doggie daycare center, a popular place among Atlanta dog owners, denies that it had anything to do with the death of Lola, an 8-year-old mixed-breed Dachshund.

Lola's owners believe otherwise, alleging that Lola was frightfully sick after she got home from a two-week stay at the kennel, and they've filed suit.

The kennel's defense in court papers is twofold: First, says the doggie daycare, we had nothing to do with Lola's death, and second, a pet is property and property has a value, and the value of Lola is essentially nothing.

The Georgia Supreme Court is hearing arguments today on that singular question: what is the value of a dog?
