State sets toll on I-75 south metro express lanes

The State Road and Tollway Authority board Thursday approved toll rates for the new I-75 south metro express lanes that will open in late January.

Motorists who use the lanes will pay tolls ranging from 10 cents to 90 cents per mile for the privilege, the board determined. The minimum price for any trip will be 50 cents.

The new lanes in Henry and Clayton counties will open the weekend of Jan. 28. They will be about 12 miles long, stretching from McDonough Road to Stockbridge Highway. They are separated by barriers from the general purpose lanes and will allow vehicles to travel toward Atlanta in the morning and out of town in the afternoon.
