Georgia State Sen. Curt Thompson, D-Norcross, will host a citizen advisory forum 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at 45 South Café, 45 South Peachtree St., Norcross. Thompson will welcome guest speaker, Jeff Graham, executive director of Georgia Equality, to speak on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual and other minorities rights and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act in Georgia.

The RFRA has been criticized by national advocacy groups for allowing corporations to carve out exemptions to laws by offering religion as a reason. One of the most well-known of these controversies involved Hobby Lobby’s fight with the Affordable Care Act to refuse to pay for emergency contraception for employees.
