Springdale Park named ‘Green Ribbon' school

Atlanta's Springdale Park Elementary was one of 78 schools nationally named a U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School for environmental conservation efforts. More than 350 schools competed for the recognition, which is given to schools that reduce environmental impact, promote health and ensure students learn sustainability concepts. Springdale Park had a $12.1 million renovation and expansion, adding energy efficient, low-emissions geo-thermal technology into the school’s heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system.
