The Sugar Hill greenway is making progress with the completion of a 1,100-foot segment on Whitehead Road that includes traffic and erosion control measures.

Plans for the balance of Phase 1 are currently advertised for bids. Due to the COVID-19 response, the city briefly delayed the bid phase. The next phase will complete the connection from downtown south to two county parks along Peachtree Industrial Boulevard to Whitehead Road.

This project is funded through a combination of city and county SPLOST funds by way of an intergovernmental agreement.

The Sugar Hill Greenway is a 16-mile loop through the city.
