Special mass for bishop-elect Hartmayer

A special Mass of Thanksgiving for Savannah Bishop-elect Gregory Hartmayer at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Cathedral of Christ the King, 2699 Peachtree Road N.E.

Hartmayer is a member of the Conventual Franciscans and is the second priest from the religious order to serve as bishop in this country in the last century, according to the Atlanta archdiocese. He will succeed Bishop J. Kevin Boland.
