Stockbridge
Face mask policy approved
The Stockbridge City Council voted at its May 26 workshop meeting to approve a policy requiring city employees and members of the public to wear face coverings over their noses and mouths when in public areas of city buildings and also when participating in meetings in non-public areas.
The move was “for the protection of members of the public and other city employees, including members of vulnerable populations and members of other populations at risk,” according to a copy of the policy. City officials will make accommodations for those who are physically unable to wear face coverings, and they will continue to communicate ways that city business can be conducted without requiring entry into a city building.

Peachtree City
Tree removal budget increased
Citing an increased demand for removing fallen or damaged trees from its golf cart path areas, Peachtree City has earmarked an additional $50,000 for its public works services.
The City Council approved the budget amendment at its regular meeting on May 21. The city will fund the measure from its general fund reserves. City Manager Jon Rorie said the initial FY2020 budget for tree removal was $150,000, but with more than 3,700 acres of greenbelt areas within the city, outside contractors are sometimes required to remove larger trees.
Anyone needing to report a downed or dangerous tree on city property can contact the public works department at 770-487-5183, or use the “Report a Problem” link at https://peachtree-city.org/128/Report-a-Problem.
