A man was pistol-whipped and his wife burned during a violent overnight home invasion at a home in south Fulton County.

The incident happened late Sunday night on Halcyon Drive, in a neighborhood off Butner Road.

Channel 2 Action News reported that the couple arrive home from a movie and were met by three masked men who accosted them when they opened their garage. The men immediately bound the couple with duct tape and demanded the code to open the family's safe.

When the man wouldn't give up the code, he was pistol-whipped and kicked.

The intruders then plugged in a curling iron and began burning the man's wife. That's when he gave them the safe's code.

The thieves left with cash, a laptop and a gun.
