The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to pay $54,864 more for security enhancements for the Tag Office at the South Cobb Government Center at 4700 Austell Road.
Cobb Support Services Agency Director Eddie Canon told the commissioners more security is needed.
Security cameras, recording equipment, glass windows at each service counter and a queue management system will be installed by Cobb employees, inmates and subcontractors.
Last month, the commissioners also agreed to add security fencing around this center to better protect police and fire personnel from vandalism of their cars and county vehicles.
Both Cobb Police Precinct 2 and Fire Station 22 are based at this center.
