The Cobb County School Board has promoted a middle school assistant principal to serve as the head administrator at South Cobb High School.

Tommy J. Perry, an assistant principal at Dickerson Middle School, has been named principal at South Cobb High School. Board members approved the appointment at their Thursday, July 18 meeting.

Perry replaces Clint Terza, who resigned from the Cobb school district to accept a position with the Bartow County School System as chief leadership and learning officer.

According to his resume provided by the school district, Perry served as assistant principal at Dickerson Middle School from 2016 to 2019 and at Pebblebrook High School from 2014 to 2016. He also was a paraprofessional at Powers Ferry Elementary School and taught at Garrett Middle School.

Perry has a bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University and a master’s degree in education and education specialist degree from Kennesaw State University.
