A Roswell snow cone business is holding a fundraiser to assist a Lassiter High School family grieving two brothers killed in a wreck Monday.
All proceeds earned between 4 and 8 p.m. this upcoming Tuesday at Bahama Buck's will go to the family of 18-year-old James and 14-year-old Joseph Pratt.
The brothers were heading to dentist appointments about 3:40 p.m. when their car collided with a Fulton County special-needs bus on Ga. 92. No one on the bus was injured.
Both teens were active members of the Navy ROTC program at Lassiter. Their instructors spoke well of the young men. The eldest had enlisted in the reserves of the U.S. Marines and had plans to attend Kennesaw State University after graduating next month.
Bahama Buck's, at 4905 Alabama Road, said in its Facebook post announcing the fundraiser that the teens' ROTC peers will perform a color guard ceremony and sing the national anthem.
“We would all love to see the community come together to see this group of boys show their love for the Pratt brothers,” the post reads.
A GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $66,000 for the family.
The Pratt family is forever linked with the families of four Langston Hughes High students who died in a crash a couple of hours earlier in south Fulton. One student survived that wreck.
