The Snellville City Council voted unanimously July 13 to purchase four fully equipped police vehicles for a total of $142,652. The 2016 Dodge Chargers are listed as part of a state contract for $25,999 each. If available with all required specifications, the city will purchase 2015 Dodge Chargers instead.

The vehicles, to be purchased from Akins Ford/Dodge in Winder, will have V-8 engines with all wheel drive. The purchase will be a turnkey solution with all emergency and related equipment, including radio installation and striping. Funds for the purchase will come from the city’s general fund.
