Gwinnett County fire investigators are trying to determine who has been setting a series of small fires in Snellville.

Since Jan. 19, Gwinnett arson investigators have followed a string of fires believed to have been set deliberately on Newcastle Way in the Centerville North subdivision.

The fires involved mainly ground cover materials like grass and leaves, and so far have only resulted in damage reported to grassy areas, a privacy fence, and an out building, Gwinnett fire spokesman Capt. Thomas Rutledge said.

A reward of up to $10,000 could be available from Georgia Arson Control, Inc., and fire investigators are asking that anyone with information contact the Gwinnett Fire Arson and Explosive section at 678-518-4890 or the Georgia Arson Hotline at 1-800-282-5804.
