The Snellville City Council unanimously voted to adopt the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Budget for each fund. The budget of $10.8 million represents a $457,442 or 4.2 percent spending increase. New sanitation rates account for 50 percent of that increase.

Highlights include $695,000 in for 2017 for ongoing stormwater capital projects. The city is also improving property and liability insurance fees from 20 percent to 4 percent by negotiating a higher deductible of $5,000 per event. The street resurfacing project will increase with an anticipated $790,000 allocated from the capital expense fund and SPLOST.
