The Snellville City Council has approved a special use permit and zoning variances to allow for the continued operation of the existing Intown Suites at 1784 Presidential Circle. The new permit and zoning variances were needed to accommodate the city’s newly enacted extended stay hotel ordinance.

Instead of a hotel employee in the lobby 24-hours a day, Intown Suites will have an employee living on the property capable of assisting, communicating, and cooperating with the police or other law enforcement officials in maintaining the public health, welfare, and safety. Among other variances approved by the city, Intown Suites also agrees to inspect each room every 2 days, and to clean each room a minimum of every 72 hours.

Other safety issues require Intown Suites to meet with Snellville’s Chief of Police to establish an “Incident Reduction Plan” in the event that more than 6 separate criminal incidents occur within any rolling, 90-day period.
