This win is enough to make your hair stand on end.

A Smyrna hairstylist and her longtime client, who is also her longtime friend, decided to split the cost of a $10 scratch off ticket and ended up winning $1 million.

Ava Jenkins, 57, and Joan Lawrence, 64, both of Smyrna, will each get half of the  $1 million top prize they won playing the $100 Million Cash Blast game.

“I almost couldn’t speak,” Jenkins recalled when she discovered the prize.

Lawrence, too, was surprised.

“When she showed me, she was too calm and stiff. There was no expression on her face,” Lawrence said. “She told me, ‘We need to go.’ ”

Jenkins has styled hair in Smyrna for 38 years, and Lawrence retired six years from a phone company.

The two dine together regularly at Howard’s Delicatessen, 652 Concord Road in Smyrna, where they bought the ticket.

A grandmother of two young boys, Jenkins plans to shop for them and save for retirement with her half.

Lawrence also plans to save her half of the winnings.
