Police say a man who attacked a Smyrna woman in early July is the same man who robbed a woman in Jonquil Park last week.

Channel 2 Action News reports that, after hearing about the incident in Jonquil Park, a woman came forward to police about her own experience.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution does not name victims of sexual assault, and Channel 2 did not show her face on camera.

She said a man attacked her while she took a walk in her Smyrna neighborhood July 2.

“He had mentioned that it was a nice night for a walk and I said, ‘yes,’” the woman told Channel 2. “And that’s when he touched my left breast.”

She said the man threw her to the ground and punched her, but she managed to get away.

“We consider him very dangerous,” Smyrna police Officer Louis Defense told Channel 2.

In each case, the suspect waited for the woman to be alone before attacking, police said.

Police recommend jogging or taking walks where there are plenty of other people in the area.

“He can’t get away with something like this,” the woman said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
