The Smyrna City Council recently hired an Atlanta-based real estate firm to market property at the now defunct Hickory Lake Apartment complex.

The city bought the property in December with a plan to demolish the complex and help redevelop the property, which sits on 48 acres near Windy Hill and Old Concord roads. The city awarded the service contract to NAI Brannen Goddard, a commercial real estate brokerage firm.

Plans for what the property would ultimately be used for haven't been decided yet.
