A Smyrna man has been arrested by federal authorities and charged with hacking into the computer operations of a New Jersey pharmaceutical company where he once worked.

Jason Cornish, 37, was charged with freezing the computer network of Shionogi Inc. In late September, shortly after Cornish resigned from the company, Shionogi laid off an employee who was Cornish's close friend and former supervisor. In February, authorities said, Cornish gained unauthorized access into the company's computer network and carried out an act of revenge.
