Ready to pick up a good book or get rid of some plastic? Smyrna’s library and recycling center are reopening with new social distancing rules to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Smyrna Library now offers curbside pickup for anyone who reserves materials. Residents who have Smyrna Library cards can visit its website to place on hold items they'd like to check out. More information about the process will be posted on the city's Facebook page and the Library's website.

Next week, Smyrna’s Recycling Center will open by appointment only on Fridays and Saturdays. Beginning Friday, May 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the center will accept up to 10 vehicles an hour for recycling. The last appointment slot available to residents will be 2 to 3 p.m.

While the Recycling Center is open to everyone, residents must make reservations before dropping off items. A reservation link will be posted on the city and Keep Smyrna Beautiful websites and social media accounts.
