King Springs Road in the Smyrna area will be getting a new water main.

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 Tuesday to award the contract for $461,150 to low bidder M.V.P. Piping Co. Inc.

This project will extend from Cooper Lake Road to South Cobb Drive.

The present water mains are “subject to periodic failure and ongoing repair demands,” according to Stephen D. McCullers, director of the Cobb County Water Department.
