By the time the Atlanta Braves play their first game in SunTrust Park, visitors will see a newly landscaped gateway leading into Smyrna along Spring Road.

Lowest bidder Ed Castro Landscape Inc. was awarded the $395,286 contract for the streetscape and median landscape improvements on Spring Road from Cobb Parkway to Bell Drive by the Smyrna City Council recently.

That figure came in $48,547 under budget.

Besides irrigated landscaping, 24 benches and 24 trash receptacles will be installed.
