A $14,400 contract with Zagster Inc. for Smyrna’s bike-share program has been extended until March 8.

The contract was approved by the Smyrna City Council on Oct. 1.

Zagster is planning to partner with Town Center CID, local cities and unincorporated Cobb County to connect the Zagster programs in those areas through a regional Cobb County Bike Share Program.

The target relaunch date will be this spring.

Rather than extend the current program for another full year, Zagster is offering a short-term extension for six months, according to Smyrna city officials.

The only changes to the contract will be the new end date of March 8, 2019 and a reduced price of $120 per bike per month - down from $130 per bike per month.
