Smyrna’s City Council has voted unanimously to amend the 2015 general fund budget to add $260,000 for city employee raises. Smyrna’s 380 employees will receive a 1.5 to 3.5 percent pay increase in January based on performance.

After the economic downturn in 2008, employees received year end bonuses instead of raises. The council in 2014 approved the first pay increase which was less than the raises approved for next year.
