Smyrna early voting begins July 2 for July 24 runoff

Ward 6 candidates Idella Moore and Tim Gould are headed for a nonpartisan runoff on July 24 for the Smyrna City Council with advance voting beginning July 2.

During the May 22 special election, Moore received 381 total votes, or 28.54 percent, and Tim Gould had 324 total votes or 24.27 percent to take the place of Doug Stoner who resigned to run, though unsuccessfully, for the Georgia Public Service Commission.

There were 1,436 total votes for all five candidates which was 26.82 percent of the 5,355 registered voters in Ward 6.

The remaining votes went to Shaun Black at 301 votes, Brant Suddath at 232 votes and Alexander Backry at 66 votes.
