The Smyrna Fire Department will dedicate its replacement for fire station 2 at 10:30 a.m. April 13 at 642 Concord Road.
This site is the same that was occupied by the city’s oldest fire station for 43 years.
The community is invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by an open house along with activities for the children.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held in September 2017.
In April 2017, the Smyrna City Council awarded the construction contract to the lowest bidder, BM&K Construction Inc., for about $2.7 million from 2016 SPLOST funding.
The new building has a full-size pull through with a driveway for the equipment.
Upgrades also include male and female restrooms and a day room.
