The Smyrna Police Department will receive two new police cars based upon a 7-0 vote on April 20 by the Smyrna City Council.

The two 2020 Ford Edge vehicles will be bought with $22,232 in Emergency Vehicle Replacement funds, insurance funds ($28,343 for two patrol vehicles) and about $6,425 in money left over from completed vehicle projects.

The cost will be almost $56,370 from Wade Ford in Smyrna.

For detectives, these vehicles will be used by the Crime Investigations Division to conduct follow-up investigations.
