The Smyrna City Council made $79,000 in changes to its present-year budget on May 20.

Coming from the contingency fund, these budget amendments include:

  • $40,000 for books for the Smyrna Library - nearly $32,500 from under-budget Capital Improvement Plan projects and $7,505 from the contingency fund.
  • $30,000 for a study of the downtown area to assist in future land use plans.
  • $5,000 for an emergency repair by the Information Technology Department from the contingency fund.
  • $4,000 for part-time approved hours by Keep Smyrna Beautiful from the contingency fund.
