Atlanta police Thursday were investigating a predawn smash-and-grab burglary at a Midtown cell phone store.

Burglars smashed a window at the T-Mobile store on 5th Street at Spring Street, according to police spokeswoman Kim Jones.

Investigating officers also discovered that a “back door had been kicked in and several cell phones appeared to be missing,” Jones said.

Police were alerted to the burglary by a passerby who heard the glass break and called 911.

Investigators were going over surveillance video from cameras inside and outside the store.
