Oct 1, 2010The Butts County Sheriff’s Office confirms a single-engine plane crashed during takeoff Friday afternoon, injuring two.
Sheriff Gene Pope told Channel 2 Action News the plane was attempting to take off at the Seven Lakes Estates airstrip off Stark Road Friday at about 1:30 p.m. when it rammed into the side of a building.
The passenger was airlifted to an Atlanta emergency ward while the pilot was transported to a local hospital. Their conditions, and identities, are unknown.
