Human remains found in Hall County last month have been identified as a missing Flowery Branch man, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

The man had been missing for nearly two years.

The GBI Crime Lab identified the skeletal remains as 42-year-old Johnny Edgar Vickers, sheriff’s spokesman Derreck Booth said in a news release.

Hall County deputies responded to a call reporting Vickers’ disappearance on April 9, 2018, Booth said. At the time, a relative told deputies that Vickers had been missing since March 5.

Vickers’ remains were found Dec. 12 by two deer hunters near the intersection of Trudy Drive and Lights Ferry Road.

The GBI was unable to determine the cause of death due to the condition of the remains, Booth said, but investigators found no indication of foul play.
