Simpsonwood property in Peachtree Corners
Simpsonwood is 227 wooded acres on the banks of the Chattahoochee. It’s a meeting place for church groups, and a sanctuary for many visitors. It’s also a prime tract in the middle of suburban Peachtree Corners worth more than $100 million, and a property with a history of being too valuable to keep.

A trail winds through the Simpsonwood lodge/retreat center property towards the Chattahoochee River as seen Wednesday, March 29, 2014. It's one of the largest undeveloped areas on the Chattahoochee in Gwinnett left. This is the 225-acre tract in Peachtree Corners that was deeded to the Methodist Church with the requirement that it be preserved as open space. The church now wants to sell the land. Some neighbors are upset and have filed suit. KENT D. JOHNSON / KDJOHNSON@AJC.COM
