Construction is expected to begin in Snellville on a new sidewalk on the east side of Skyland Drive from the existing crosswalk at the South Gwinnett High School student parking lot to the existing sidewalk near U.S. Highway 78. Curb, gutter and other drainage improvements are included. All work will be accomplished within Gwinnett and/or Georgia right of way or acquired easements.

Contractors will try to preserve anything on neighboring homeowners’ property not interfering with the proposed construction.

The Skyland Drive School Safety Improvement Project is funded by the 2014 SPLOST and is expected to take approximately six months to complete. Completion time is contingent upon weather conditions, utility conflicts encountered, etc., which may shorten or lengthen the project time.
