Three sisters were in surgery Friday afternoon after their old brother apparently ran off the road and struck a tree on the way to school, Fulton County police said.

The girls, ages 5, 7 and 13, were all believed to have non-life threatening injuries, Cpl. Kay Lester said Friday afternoon. The girls, whose names were not released, were transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, where they underwent surgery.

The crash happened around 10 a.m. in the 5800 block of Feldwood Road, according to police. Investigators believe Antavious Roach, 20, was driving his sisters to school in a 2013 Dodge Charger when he ran off the road, clipping a mailbox and then hitting a tree.

Roach was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Lester said. He was cited for failure to maintain lane and two counts of child restraint violations, police said.

There is no evidence to support the vehicle being stolen or being involved in any criminal activity, Lester said.
