Sheriff: 3 arrested on way to meth lab
Three people carrying equipment and substances used to manufacture methamphetamine were pulled over and arrested in Acworth Thursday night, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said.
During a routine traffic stop on Bells Ferry Road near Hwy. 92, a deputy discovered small amounts of marijuana and meth, a propane tank, Pyrex glassware, pseudoephedrine, peroxide, fish tank tubing and more in their vehicle. It is believed they were heading to a meth lab, the sheriff's office said in a press release.
The suspects -- Tony Clark, 40, of Texarkana, Ark., David Dejerinett, 31, of Marietta, and Evelyn Fitts, 31, of Jefferson -- are being held without bond at the Cherokee Adult Detention Center.
"The location of the meth lab remains under investigation, however we are very pleased these three individuals are off our streets and the items seized will not be used to produce methamphetamine," Sheriff Roger Garrison said.
Clark is charged with driving without a license, unauthorized use of a license plate, no tag light, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and manufacturing methamphetamine.
Dejerinett is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, and Fitts is charged with possession of dangerous drugs and manufacturing methamphetamine.
